AI4OPT hosted a seminar with guest speaker Dr. Vimal Ramjee, a nationally recognized cardiologist and health innovation leader, who discussed the role of artificial intelligence in transforming cardiovascular care.

In his talk, “Tackling Heart Disease Through Responsible AI Adoption,” Ramjee outlined how AI-enabled imaging and predictive tools can accelerate diagnosis and treatment while improving patient access. He highlighted his work building one of the nation’s largest AI-enabled cardiovascular CT programs, emphasizing the importance of pairing technology adoption with strategies to ensure scalability.

Ramjee also connected his clinical work to broader initiatives by the American Heart Association, where he serves as Division Board President-Elect and Chairman of Leadership Development. He described how these efforts aim to look beyond the technology and solve real world problems.

Following the presentation, AI4OPT members engaged in a dynamic discussion with questions on the future role of AI in health systems.
