Postdoctoral Fellow at Georgia Tech
The U.S. National Science Foundation AI Institute for Advances in Optimization (AI4OPT) is hiring a postdoctoral researcher in AI for Energy at Georgia Tech, under the supervision of professor Pascal Van Hentenryck. Applicants should have obtained a PhD degree and have a background in optimization or AI/ML. Candidates with interdisciplinary expertise and diverse research backgrounds are especially encouraged to apply. The position requires strong technical skills and coding expertise in Python, Julia, or C++.
Successful candidates will contribute to research projects that apply large-scale optimization and machine learning to critical power system challenges. Candidates will work within multidisciplinary research teams that bring together world-leading experts in AI and optimization to address real-world problems using real-world data. The position also offers opportunities to supervise students and lead collaborative projects with partners including Southern Company, Independent System Operators, and U.S. National Laboratories.
NSF AI4OPT is one of 29 National Artificial Intelligence Research Institutes established by the National Science Foundation to advance use-inspired AI research and realize the transformative potential of artificial intelligence. Focused on AI for Engineering, NSF AI4OPT conducts cutting-edge research at the intersection of learning, optimization, and generative AI to transform decision-making at massive scales. Its research is driven by applications in supply chains, energy systems, and manufacturing. NSF AI4OPT brings together approximately 100 faculty members, postdoctoral researchers, and students from Georgia Tech, UC Berkeley, the University of Southern California, and other partner institutions. Researchers collaborate closely with industrial partners including Intel, UPS, Ryder, Keysight, Southern Company, ISO New England, and Los Alamos National Laboratory.
