Pascal Van Hentenryck recently served as the featured speaker at Georgia Tech’s first sanctioned Continuing Legal Education (CLE) event focused on AI for Law, hosted by the School of Public Policy’s Law, Science, and Technology program.

Held on March 11 at the newly rebuilt D.M. Smith Building, the event brought together students and practicing attorneys to explore how artificial intelligence is shaping legal systems, policy development, and regulatory decision-making.

Pascal’s discussion examined the growing role of AI in legal reasoning and governance, highlighting both opportunities and challenges in applying data-driven methods to law and public policy.

AI4OPT continues to support interdisciplinary engagement that connects artificial intelligence and optimization research with real-world applications across law, policy, and society.
