Pascal Van Hentenryck, director of the NSF Artificial Intelligence Institute for Advances in Optimization (AI4OPT) and A. Russell Chandler III Chair and professor in the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISyE) at Georgia Tech, was recently featured on Connectivity Cast, a UNICEF Digital Inclusion podcast exploring how digital technologies can expand access, opportunity, and participation around the world. As part of UNICEF Digital Impact, the podcast examines the broader human impact of connectivity and emerging technologies.

In an episode titled “How AI Can Be Used for Social Good,” Van Hentenryck joins host Ivan Dotu Rodríguez, Giga’s applied science lead. They discuss how artificial intelligence can address challenges across science, technology and education, including applications in education, health care, mobility and research.

The episode was recorded ahead of the inaugural Giga Talks event at the Giga Tech Center in Barcelona, where Pascal joined the Giga team to share his perspectives on how AI can support development efforts across a range of fields.
