Kevin Dalmeijer, managing director of AI4OPT, has been honored with a Research Administration & Support (RA&S) Spotlight Award. Dalmeijer was recognized for his pivotal role in shaping AI4OPT into a nationally acclaimed research institute. Under his leadership, the institute has enabled more than 40 interdisciplinary research projects and fostered collaboration across key campus units and academic schools. His strategic vision, commitment to Georgia Tech’s core values, and coordination with federal agencies have positioned AI4OPT among the top AI institutes in the nation.

Dalmeijer has advanced research in critical areas such as power grids, supply chains, and equitable public transit. In 2024, his leadership earned invitations to AI events hosted by the White House and Congress, as well as a speaking role at the Summit for AI Leadership. He also launched the AI4OPT Student Leadership Council to mentor emerging researchers and recently secured a major partnership with Clark Atlanta University.
