Members of the U.S. National Science Foundation AI Research Institute for Advances in Optimization (AI4OPT) attended the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers’ (IISE) 2025 Annual Conference.

Alireza Moradi, Rosie Kim, Joe Ye, Stefan Faulkner, Michael Klamkin, and Guancheng Qiu all presented their work in AI and optimization.

Guancheng Qiu (“Ivan”) of Georgia Tech was honored with the Best Paper Award in the Energy Systems Division for his work “Dual Conic Proxy for Semidefinite Relaxation of AC Optimal Power Flow,” co‑authored with Mathieu Tanneau and Pascal Van Hentenryck.

Their collective presence and presentations underscore AI4OPT’s growing prominence in advancing optimization techniques for energy and infrastructure resilience.
